“Focus” on Briar Bauman
Basically if my team and I didn’t have bad luck, we wouldn’t have any luck at all. We did turn it around this past weekend though in Kentucky!
At Sacramento I qualified 4th and was having a pretty solid day going and then my main bike blew up in the Dash 4 Cash. Then I had to hop on the back up which I haven’t sat on all year. I was still feeling pretty good though, but the main event didn’t treat us so well. I ended up getting a flat caused by a master clip off of a chain on the first lap. I was running 5th when that happened.
Springfield was pretty much the same story. Qualified well, but the main bike blew up in the last qualifying session so had to hop on the back up. Went okay on it most of the day and was running around 9th early in the main and then blew up.
Kentucky finally did us well, finishing only our 3rd main event out of 7. We came home 6th. We actually battled our way up to the 3rd through 6th place pack and got to ride our main bike the whole day. It was honestly just an accomplishment in its own doing just that. It gives me a lot of hope for the rest of the season.
We have had a rough go of it this year, working out all of the bugs on the new Zanotti Racing Kawasakis. It is all good though because I know once we do, it is going to be great.
